GoDaddy Bookkeeping has retired and shut down as of September 30, 2022. 

 

Why is GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping being discontinued?

GoDaddy Bookkeeping has a great set of features that meet customer’s need and is nominally priced. Over these years, we have worked hard to ensure the reliability and performance of the product. But the company’s strategic priorities have shifted away from bookkeeping and we may not give the full attention this product desires. Other bookkeeping tools on the market may be good fit for your needs in the future.



Can I still import new data to my GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping?

You will not be able to import new data after June 23, 2022. After this time, the GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping application will be rendered read-only, and all the data will be archived. You’ll have the ability to transfer data to QuickBooks Online or download your data to .csv files that can be imported to the bookkeeping product of your choice. If you’re using the invoice tool, you can continue to use that tool until Sep 30, 2022, for ‘Free’.



What will happen to my billing?

We plan to stop billing on June 23, 2022. If you have subscribed to a monthly or annual plan, You'll receive a prorated return for any time remaining on your term. If you are using the invoice tool, you can continue using it with no charge until September 30, 2022.


What happens to my historical data?

You will not be able to import new data starting June 23, 2022. After this time, the GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping application will be rendered read-only, and all the data will be archived. You’ll have the ability to migrate data to QuickBooks Online or download your data to .csv files that can be imported to the bookkeeping product of your choice. You’ll have until September 30, 2022. to move your data from GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping to QuickBooks Online or download your data to .csv files. If you are using the invoice tool, you can continue to use that tool until September 30, 2022, for ‘Free



How much will Intuit’s QuickBooks Online cost me?

We have negotiated a good deal for you on QuickBooks Online. You can get 40% off the subscription fee for the first year on any of the plans, starting at $25/month. For comparison, if you were using the GoDaddy Bookkeeping Essential plan, you should find most of its features in Quickbooks online ‘Simple start’ plan.



What if I don’t want to move my data to Intuit’s QuickBooks online?

You’ll have the ability to download your data into .csv files and then you’ll be able to import the data into the bookkeeping product of your choice. Make sure to download your data by 9/30/2022 to prevent losing it forever.

 

How long will GoDaddy retain my data and make it available to me?

You’ll have until September 30, 2022 to move your data from GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping to QuickBooks Online or download your data to .csv files.


 

I have been using the GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping Invoice product for years. Will I be able to continue to send invoices to my customers?

We will stop importing data from marketplaces, banks, etc. into GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping on June 23rd, 2022, I If you are using the invoice tool, you can continue using it with no charge until September 30, 2022.



Can I move over my invoice data to Intuit’s QuickBooks Online and use their invoice product?

Yes. You’ll be able to transfer over your estimates, invoices and client data to your QuickBooks Online account using the provided migration tool or via downloaded csv files.

 

Who will bill me for Intuit QuickBooks Online?

Intuit will be responsible for billing you for your QuickBooks Online subscription. Intuit will support you with any questions or concerns you may have with using the QuickBooks Online product.



How can I transfer data from my GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping account to QuickBooks Online?

We have built a migration tool within GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping that you can use to transfer your data to QuickBooks Online. Follow the steps below to transfer your data

Step 1: Sign up for QuickBooks Online

Sign up for a QuickBooks Online plan that meets your requirements, using the special discount links provided within the migration tool. Please note that you will not be able to get the extra discount if you do not use the included signup link(s).

 

Step 2: Configure QuickBooks Online account

Login to your QuickBooks Online account and connect it to your marketplaces, payment processor, bank, etc.,. Doing this enables you to start importing data from these connected channels into QuickBooks Online. Please refer to the following help articles for additional information.

 

Step 3: Initiate data transfer

  1. Return to migration tool to initiate the data transfer.
  2. Choose the date range of the data that you want to transfer over to QuickBooks Online. You can transfer all your datahowever you may not need historical data more than few years old.
  3. Login to QuickBooksOnline to establish a connection between your GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping account and your QuickBooks Online account.
  4. The data transfer process will immediately start and may take several hrs to complete, depending on the amount of data involved. You’ll be notified by email once the process is complete.

Step 4: Review data transfer completion report

  1. Return to the migration tool and review the transfer completion status.
  2. If there are errors being reported, download the error report to get additional information.
  3. In a few cases, the migration tool can’t transfer the data over to QuickBooks Online due to a data format compliance issue. You may have to manually create those records in QuickBooks Online.



What QuickBooks Online plan is right for me?

QuickBooks Online ‘Simple start’ has most of the features of the GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping ‘Essentials’ plan. If you are interested in tracking time, access to more employees etc., then you should consider QuickBooks Online ‘Essentials’ or higher plan. Please visit https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/ to get additional information.



Will I get a discount for being a GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping customer if I sign up for QuickBooks Online directly on Intuit’s website?

Unfortunately, Intuit can’t extend the discount to you if you sign up for QuickBooks Online directly on their website. You’ll have to use the specific sign-up link provided within the data migration tool, to claim the discount.
